‘It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself and to make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary.’
– Mandy Hale
There are many benefits to having a regular yoga practice – including increased strength, flexibility and awareness. However, we know it can be difficult to make time for a regular practice, especially when you’ve fallen out of the routine. To help encourage you to return to the mat, we’ve got three great reasons to get back into your practice…
1. You need some time for yourself
Yoga is a wonderful way to take some time by carving out space for yourself on your mat. How many days have you felt overwhelmed by commitments and vowed to some take time to fill your own cup, only to find yourself cleaning during ‘me-time’ and then unwinding to Netflix? While we all need that at times, making the commitment to attend a class means that you will follow through on making ‘me-time’ uplifting.
2. Being in a like-minded community is healthy
Sometimes you just need a boost of inspiration from others. Getting out and about is a great way to keep your spirits high during the cooler, darker months while also seeing others who are committed to a healthy lifestyle. Be open to striking up a conversation with those you see by the couch outside the studio and you might just find a new yoga friend!
3. Movement, Breath, and Music
Three things that will get you feeling good in every class. Plus, you can learn to cultivate these healthy habits and integrate them into your daily life. Uplifting music is one of the fastest, most effective and easiest ways to immediately improve your environment.
Ask yourself: What brings you to the mat? What value do you get from your yoga practice? What would it take for you to return to or begin a regular yoga practice?
The door is always open at Studio Nine! We encourage you to get in touch. We’re here for you and want to make sure you get exactly what you need out of your practice. Your mat can become your refuge, a canvas for transformation. Talk with us about your practice, we’re happy to help guide you towards making yoga a part of your life.
